Цель:
• знакомство с волонтерской деятельностью в странах изучаемого языка и в России;
• развитие у обучающихся творческих способностей и интереса к изучению английского языка;
• осуществление иноязычной речевой деятельности.

Задачи:
Образовательные:
• расширить лексический запас слов;
• расширить и углубить культурологические знания студентов;
• совершенствовать лексические навыки;
• повысить общую культуру общения;
• привлечь студентов к научно-поисковой работе.

Развивающие:
• формировать интерес к деятельности волонтеров англоговорящих стран и России;
• развивать память и внимание;
• расширять кругозор обучающихся;
• развивать интеллектуальные способности студентов;
• активизировать исследовательскую деятельность.

Воспитательные:
• формировать уважительное отношение к языку;
• формировать умение активно и плодотворно работать самостоятельно и в коллективе.

Оборудование урока: мультимедийный проектор, экран, ноутбук, презентацияTeacher 1: Good afternoon, everybody! Today in our “English Club” we are going to have a talk about volunteers and volunteering in the world we live in.
First of all let’s watch a video according to our topic. VIDEO

Teacher 2: Now we have some questions for you. Look at the screen and answer them, please!
1. Who is a volunteer?
2. What is the volunteering for you?
3. Have you ever taken a part in some volunteer projects? Why? What experience have you had?
4. What kind of International volunteer organizations do you know?

Teacher 1: Well, thank you for your answers. Now let’s listen to the students who have prepared some information about different volunteer organizations:
- Greenpeace,
- International Fund for Animal Welfare,
- United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund

Greenpeace
National offices of Greenpeace are opened in 43 countries of the world as the independent units working on achievement of the goals of the national projects.
Projects on which Greenpeace organization works:
- nuclear-free future
- renewable power
- oil spill
- let’s protect the Arctic
- climate change
- forest’s preservation
- world heritage
- Baikal lake
- problem of waste
- pure water
- ecohouse

International Fund for Animal Welfare

The mission of IFAW – to save and protect animals worldwide.

Founded in 1969, IFAW saves the animals around the world which are in emergency situations. Projects of Fund are carried out more than in 40 countries: IFAW renders the practical help to the animals which got into trouble whether it be cats or dogs, wild or farm animals, and saves animals after natural disasters.
Projects on which IFAW organization works:
- wildlife conservation
- wildlife crime
- whales’ conservation
- elephants’ conservation
- animal rescue
- saving the last tigers
- saving the seals

United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund

UNICEF was created on December 11, 1946 according to the decision of the United Nations General Assembly as the extraordinary organization for assistance to the children who were injured during World War II.
The fund carries out the programs in 157 countries of the world, including Russia.

Projects on which UNICEF organization works:

- Protection of Children
- Health and Development of Youth
- Development at Early Age
- Cities, Benevolent to Children

It’s not medals won with pride.
It’s for that feeling deep inside.
It’s that reward down in your heart.
It’s that feeling that you’ve been a part.

That makes you be a Volunteer!
